Introducing the Kindred Art Space Caravan

Taking Creative Wellbeing on the Road

At Kindred Art Space, our mission has always been to make Art Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and Counselling accessible, and supportive for people from all walks of life. Since opening our Frankston Centre in 2015, we’ve welcomed countless individuals, groups, and organisations into our purpose-built sanctuary, offering therapy, community workshops, and professional development.

Now, after two years of dreaming, planning, and saving, we’re excited to share the next chapter of our journey: the Kindred Art Space Caravan.

Why a Caravan?

For many people living in remote or rural areas, access to mental health and wellbeing services can be limited. We know that distance, travel time, and availability of local resources often make it difficult to find the right support.

That’s why we’ve created a purpose-built, all-terrain mobile Art Therapy studio—designed to bring our creative, neuroscience-based, and trauma-informed services directly into communities that need them most.

Whether parked at a school, a community centre, or a regional town gathering space, the Kindred Art Space Caravan allows us to create a safe, welcoming environment for Art Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and Counselling wherever it’s needed.

A Labour of Love – Two Years in the Making

This project has been a dream of ours for many years, but it’s taken the last two to bring it to life. My husband and I have been working hard, saving diligently, and carefully designing a caravan that isn’t just functional, but deeply reflective of the values we hold at Kindred Art Space.

The result is a mobile therapy hub that’s both practical and creative, with everything we need to deliver high-quality, evidence-based Art Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and Counselling services outside the walls of our Frankston Centre.

On the Road with Our Rescue Pugs

And because no adventure is complete without a little joy—our beloved rescue pugs will be travelling alongside us! They’re not only cherished companions but also bring a unique sense of comfort and warmth wherever we go. Their gentle presence often helps break the ice and reminds us of the healing power of connection. Not having the best start in life, since being adopted by us they are now living their best life in their fur-ever home. They are testimony to the fact that with the right supports, healing is indeed possible.

Services Still Available in Frankston

While the Kindred Art Space Caravan takes us into new regions at regular intervals, rest assured that our Frankston Centre remains open. Kerryn and our team of professionals, therapy rooms, meditation garden, and community studio will continue to host individual sessions, groups, workshops, and space hire for fellow practitioners.

This new chapter is not about leaving home, but rather expanding our reach—ensuring that creativity, connection, and counselling can touch even more lives.

Looking Ahead

We can’t wait to share updates as the Kindred Art Space Caravan begins its journey across Victoria and beyond. This is more than a mobile studio—it’s a movement towards accessible, inclusive mental health and wellbeing support for all communities.

If you’d like to follow along with the caravan’s travels, or learn more about how we can support you or your community, stay connected with us at Kindred Art Space.

With gratitude and excitement,
